The research was basically focused upon evaluating the deficiencies within the contemporary project practices regarding cost and time control in construction projects. The research evaluated the construction industries operating within Oman particularly. It helped in highlighting the theories and the evolution and implementation of those theories that help in managing the time and cost of the projects. Research also helped in evaluating the practices of last planner system and highlighting its advantages and contribution in further improving the control practices within construction industry. The information regarding these practices was gathered from client’s representatives. The tool adopted for data collection was interviews. It was found through the research that certain software packages are also adopted for further enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of control practices. The research also concluded that the LPS is serving as a great tool and has increased the dependability and stability of the planning.
