The journal Annalen des Naturhistorischen Museums in Wien, Serie A is an international scientific journal, appearing annually. There is a strong focus on paleontological topics, although the series occasionally contains papers relating to mineralogy, petrology, geology, paleontology, archeozoology, anthropology, and pre-history as well. The large majority (>85%) of the papers are in English and an English abstract is compulsory for all papers in other languages (German, French). All submitted manuscripts are strictly peer-reviewed by at least two international experts. Through an exchange service, the journal is distributed to 800 scientific institutions worldwide.
