An outbreak of caprine arthritis in a small ruminant research facility in northern Oman is reported. Synovial fluid samples were analyzed, and a non-randomized clinical trial was undertaken to determine response to several antibiotics. Results suggest varying susceptibility to arthritis between breeds of goats and indicate a greater effectiveness of lincospectin/spectinomycin and tylosine over other antibiotics in such cases.
