There has been an increasing interest in the monitoring and the assessment of groundwater quality in the Sultanate of Oman in particular. Experts have been arguing that the current used techniques are not accurate means of measuring groundwater contamination. This is mainly because these techniques emphasize neither the stochastic nature of the groundwater contamination process nor the precision and the accuracy of the test methods used by environmental laboratories. This work addresses these drawbacks in the assessment of groundwater quality in Sultanate of Oman using Bayesian methods. These methods are widely applicable and are able to overcome many of the problems encountered with the other methods. Therefore, the primary aim is to develop a predictive model to assess and predict the impact of pollutants on the groundwater.
