The nature of youth delinquency in general, globally, might be similar, but the crimes or individual may differ from one country to another, depending on the nature of local morals, social values and norms of society. A general review of the official statistics of crime in the Sultanate of Oman suggests that there has been a significant increase in the rate of juvenile delinquency year by year, especially during the last two decades, caused by various factors, mostly generated from the process of social and economic transformation and related problems. The major aim of this study is to determine the factors, which associated with juvenile delinquency in Oman, in the context of rapid socio-economic change in the Sultanate of Oman. The respondents in the survey were Omani male juveniles (N= 480), comprised of juvenile delinquents (N= 128) and non-delinquents (N= 352). The first group is of convicted serious delinquents, who were arrested by the police and sent to prison. The second group is nondelinquent juveniles (students). The thesis is divided into nine chapters. In this study, the researcher decided to use one method, a survey questionnaire, to measure juvenile delinquency in Oman society.
