The aim of this research is to study the ability of using the rotary inverter which is electrical DC motor and alternator electrical generator as one system, by connecting each other with one shaft, by controlling the rotational speed of the couple to get useful device that can converts the DC solar panels energy into AC 220 volts 50 Hz electrical power. This system can be used for domestic application with acceptable efficiency instead of the use of static electronic inverter. The harsh high temperature conditions of Iraqi summer days, at which the temperature is more than 50Co, make the work of the electronic power inverter is impossible. Therefore the operation of the DC motor and AC generator was studied theoretically and practically by construct a 5 kW rotational electrical inverter, which able to convert 5kW DC 220V solar energy to 220V 50 Hz. The constructed rotary inverter was successful achieved with a total efficiency about 80% at full load. The domestic application device was achieved with low cost compared to electronic inverter and it can operate a high temperature more than 90CO, works smoothly with acceptable efficiency.
