The recent study aimed to identify the positive personality traits according to the concepts of positive psychology, and its relationship to the team leadership skills of the academic leaders from the point of view of university faculty members: Dhofar University as a model according to the variables (gender, years of experience, academic degree). The study sample consisted of (92) faculty members of Dhofar University, 73 males and 19 females. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, two questionnaires were constructed. The first questionnaire is the positive personality traits consists of (33) items assess four sub-dimensions: Psychological happiness and quality of life, flow and integration, rationality and balance, positive thinking, and the leadership skills questionnaire which consists of (36) items that measure five dimensions: participatory in decision making, communication skills, support, conflict management, and meeting management. The psychometric characteristics of the two questionnaires were verified. The analytical descriptive correlated approach was used. The results showed that the level positive character traits of academic leaders were medium, with a total response rate of (3.36) at the highest levels in (flow and integration, rationality and equilibrium). The level of academic leadership of the team leadership skills was also medium with a total response rate of (3.31), at the highest levels of (meeting management and communication skills). There were no differences in the estimates of faculty members on the level of possession of these skills due to variables (gender, years of experience), while there were statistically significant differences according to the academic grade variable towards the higher degree. It appeared statistically significant positive correlation relationship at the level (0.01) between the level of possession of academic leaders of the dimensions of positive personality traits and the level of possessing the team leadership skills. In the light of these findings, the study concluded a number of recommendations.
