The present study aimed to examine the childhood abuse experiences and self-concept and among grade 11 students in the schools of Muscat governorate and to identify which dimensions of childhood abuse can predict self-concept. The sample consisted of 600 students (males= 303 and females= 297) who were given two instruments: A Childhood Abuse Experiences Questionnaire (developed for the purpose of the study) and Self-Description scale SDQ-11 by Marsh (1992). The data were analyzed using the multiple regression analysis (Stepwise multiple Linear regression). Results indicated low rate of childhood abuse experiences and high non-academic self-concept. It also indicated that the childhood emotional abuse experiences and gender (male) predicted 15% of variance in self-concept. Several recommendations were suggested to the specialists in Omani schools to provide psychological intervention to emotionally abused children.
