The Research Council (trc) was established in 2005 with the ambition and aspiration of improving innovation capacity and becoming a regional hub in the production of new ideas and the translation of these ideas into products and services with emphases on commercialisation. As part of trc mandate and its national strategy, Science and Technology Park (S&TP) has to be established in Al-Khodh Valley close to the Sultan Qaboos University. The S&TP is meant to provide infrastructure and services needed for ideation, incubation, proto-tying and initial business set-up.
