The isotopic composition of oxygen-18 (18O) and deuterium (2H) of 215 rainwater samples collected from 2008 to 2010 from different geographic regions in Yemen were used to construct two regression lines considered as local meteoric water lines (LMWL). The two derived equations represent the first published LMWL’s for Yemen. One line was constructed for the highland region (altitude >1000 masl) with slope 7.1 (n = 127). It differs slightly from the global slope 8.0 and was named as Yemen Highland Meteoric Water Line (YHMWL) defined by the equation:
