The research aims at presenting educational institutions, and the educational system in the state of Nizwa, such as schools, mosques and scientific councils. The city of Nizwa was one of the oldest cities in Oman and was the traditional capital of Oman for long periods of time. Sultan Qaboos bin Said choses it as the city of science and heritage, and also was chosen by ISESCO as the Capital of Islamic Culture. The researcher applied the descriptive approach and used the survey and historical methodologies. A qualitative approach was adopted in the data collection through interviews that included five well-known figures in Nizwa. The interviews sought to complement the data obtained from traditional sources and references. The research findings counted eleven schools and three heritage mosques, all of which were famous for teaching and memorizing the Qur’an. The research was also presented to two heritage councils and four councils of our time. The researcher recommended the need to take care of the “Awqaf” of the Holy Quran schools.
