This study aimed to diagnos the level of environmental knowledge among the science teachers, in the Sultanate of Oman, in the light of the general environmental issues and in the science books in different educational stages. The researcher noted due to the years of teaching experience; that a number of science teachers in different disciplines (biology, physics, chemistry, second field) teaching other scientific disciplines. For example, the physics teacher, teach the environment and chemistry or both, without having sufficient scientific background for these specialties. The research community composed of science teachers at the public schools in Muscat Governorate. The researcher has developed a test to measure environmental knowledge, following the survey of science books for all stages, to identify the most important concepts and environmental issues involved. The test included (84) paragraphs, divided into three main axes: the environment with its different dimensions, environmental problems and environmental protection. After confirming the validity and stability of the test, it was applied to a study sample of (208) teachers, who were selected in a simple random way. The findings revealed that; the level of environmental knowledge among science teachers in Oman was below the educational level (75%).
